HR (sr. Human Resources Manager)

Experience: 7 years or more
Experience Preferred:

7 years or more of experience with HR on informercial working and homes health care companies such as Sleep Number, Tempur pedic, Peloton, and Shark Ninja (the companies have their own direct stores and delivery system)

Primary Responsibilities:

As part of the Ceragem HR team,  support from the HR Operations Manager, including the following:

  • Talent Acquisition: evaluate talent needs and ensure acceptable staffing levels (current and future).   for interviewing and selection to ensure a consistent, high-quality talent pipeline. Assist hiring managers with the effective use of selection processes, selection criteria, and onboarding tools.
  • Talent Management: Ensure organizational talent is prepared to deliver exceptional performance, through a partnership with business leaders and by building strong organizational capabilities and culture. Develop, implement and manage organizational programs relative to employee development, retention, performance management, onboarding, career development, and succession planning, to ensure a talent pipeline that will successfully enable current strategies and future growth.
  • Employee Relations: Respond to employee concerns and provide employee relations guidance to managers to ensure effective application of company policies/procedures and company culture and minimize legal risks, complaints, charges and turnover. Investigate root causes of employee relations issues and develop strategies to address/reduce them. Serve as a subject matter expert for federal and state regulations and ensure accurate and appropriate strategies and tactics are in place. Demonstrate balanced advocacy for employees and the business.
  • Organization Effectiveness: Partner with leaders and HR partners to proactively identify job/organization design opportunities that increase organization effectiveness and prepare the business to drive/support future growth. Employ change leadership and team effectiveness principles to help teams better ensure success of new programs, structures, etc.
  • Communication: Understand stakeholder perspectives at multiple leadership levels and partner with organizational leaders to ensure proactive, effective communication strategies and processes for issues or situations of varying complexity.
  • Culture: Assess alignment and support for company mission, values and strategies; provide recommendations to managers on how to respond to emerging workplace trends and or how to address employee needs or issues with balance for both legal compliance and culture. Assist in implementation of employee engagement surveys, feedback sessions and action planning. Actively personify and advocate for the company’s culture, brand and values.
  • Process Improvement: Identify, advocate for and implement HR best practices across all areas of the business; simplify or reduce non-value added processes. Help business units identify and resolve opportunities for increased efficiency or decreased bureaucracy. Enable and ensure compliance in regulated practices pertinent to department. Advocate for employee involvement and empowerment in decision making.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Administer pre-employment background screening and drug testing process in compliance with company requirements and applicable laws.
  • Use policy knowledge and judgement to conduct individualized assessments.
  • Administer the pre-employment process in a fair and equitable manner for all candidates.
  • Communicate compliance results to necessary parties as appropriate, while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of background requirements for various business units, including DOT regulations.
  • Track and analyze applicable pre-employment compliance metrics for the organization.
  • Participate in the overall policy review process in partnership with Legal and other HR business teams.
  • Create and maintain process related documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field
  • 3+ years HR experience desired with knowledge of DOT practices preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility with all levels of leaders.
  • Ability to create sustainable and scalable business processes focusing on continuous improvement at the enterprise level.
  • Self-starter with ability to take initiative to research laws/policies and resolve questions/issues/concerns in a growth environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Must be detail oriented, accurate, and highly organized.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills and has strong consultation skills to seek out and share information with all levels of team members and leaders.
  • High-level of demonstrated integrity, trust, and empathy.
  • Demonstrated experience working with confidential information.
